elcome to the I International Conference
on The Protestant Reformation and Social
Liberties in Europe website

The aim of this international conference is to address the significance of the Protestant Reformation and its influences on social liberties in Europe.

The conference will gather together social historians, theologians, philosophers and experts in Reformation studies from around the world to discuss the legacy of the Protestant Reformation in context.

The political and ethical tradition of our European culture cannot overlook the pivotal role the Protestant Reformation played in establishing individual liberties.

For the first time, the ideas produced and developed by the Protestant Reformation will be studied in depth in the context of an international conference to be held in Spain. The change of mentality that would later produce other European revolutions constitutes a key intellectual incentive for the understanding of the History, the Philosophy, the Laws and Economics that, as citizens of Europe, is common to all of us.

It is high time we acknowledged our debt to a tradition that is part of the very roots of Europe —and that also had its Spanish legacy—.
